The design of an IS requires that concepts and rules, i.e. a conceptual schema defining the universe of discourse, are made visible and shareable. A graphic conceptual schema supported by functionalities for data manipulation, can be seen as the information system itself. It is a concept space in which a user can navigate. A good support system is necessary. We describe such a system, which supports the conceptual modelling, the logical design and implementation of the database, and it can be used as a query and update system. In the description of knowledge the definition of concepts is emphasized.
