SIGSAND is part of a wide network of incredible organizations and services, which provide informational, publicity, knowledge or even financial support for its operations. If you want to join our list of supporters, contact us and indicate the kind of collaboration you wish to have with SIGSAND. We welcome any kind of support, including knowledge, publicity and financial.
EMMSAD – Our Research Partner
EMMSAD is the research partner of SIGSAND. EMMSAD is a two-day conference on Exploring Modeling Methods for Systems Analysis and Development, thus is of key interest to the SAND community. The objective of the EMMSAD conference series is to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners interested in modeling methods for Systems Analysis and Development (SA&D) to meet and exchange research ideas and results. To this end, the focus is on both insights in modeling for SA&D in general, and the fostering of cross-pollination of insights between different specific modeling approaches (such as business process modeling, enterprise modeling, value modeling, capability modeling, etc.). We invite you to follow EMMSAD`s conferences at our Events page.
AIS SIGHCI – Our Partner SIG
AIS SIGHCI is the partner SIG of AIS SIGSAND. Together, our two SIGs capture the core area of IS, including the development and use of IT.
As AIS SIGSAND, AIS SIGHCI is one of the core areas of the Information Systems. The Special Interest Group on Human-Computer Interaction that is affiliated with the Association for Information Systems (AIS). Ping Zhang and Fiona Fui-Hoon Nah prepared a proposal that was approved by the AIS council in Spring 2001. SIGHCI then became one of the first six officially sanctioned SIGs announced in ISWORLD in July 2001.
Association for Information Systems
The Association for Information Systems (AIS) is a parent organization of AIS SIGSAND. It serves society through the advancement of knowledge and the promotion of excellence in the practice and study of information systems. AIS is the premier professional association for individuals and organizations who lead the research, teaching, practice, and study of information systems worldwide.
Journal of Database Management
The Journal of Database Management (JDM) has been an ardent supporter of SAND for many years. JDM publishes original research on all aspects of database management, design science, systems analysis and design, and software engineering. The primary mission of JDM is to be instrumental in the improvement and development of theory and practice related to information technology, information systems, and management of knowledge resources. The journal is targeted at both academic researchers and practicing IT professionals.
Information Systems Research Youtube Channel
Our information partner is the Youtube channel InformationSystems Research. Stay on top of the information systems and information technology research with simple, fun and engaging short videos. Be informed of the cutting edge research in information technology, artificial intelligence, information systems, computer science and more! Watch two funky robots, Max and Alice, debate recent research articles. Listen to presentation of papers, discussion of trendy topics and ideas. The Channel has a Conceptual Modeling video list.
The Inter-Nomological Network
SIGSAND is a partner with The Inter-Nomological Network (INN). INN is developed by the Human Behavior Project at the Leeds School of Business. It is is a tool designed to integrate the behavioral sciences (whith SAND is part of) by removing barriers that currently exist within and between disciplines. INN is an integrated theory development application which aims to reduce redundancy in research in the behavioral sciences. INN uses natural language processing techniques to search for publications and return search results that are semantically related to the user’s query.
IVADO Canada
Partial financial support for creation of content on SIGSAND.com came from IVADO Canada as a result of support of a research project carried out on the website. IVADO aims to bring together industry professionals and academic researchers to develop cutting-edge expertise in data science, operational research and artificial intelligence. IVADO members provide data management methods and inform decision making for optimal resource use. In essence, IVADO creates opportunities for knowledge exchange and collaborations between the specialists, partners, researchers and students in its network.
Information Systems Theory Wiki
This site provides researchers with summarized information on theories widely used in information systems (IS) research. The site provides details about the theory, some examples of IS papers using the theory, and links to related sites. This is a wiki – you can help make it better! Please feel free to summarize a theory, add to the information already present, correct errors, or suggest additional theories for the list.
