We categorize systems analysis and design research into seven sub-areas, and create critical bibliographies for each of these areas. We compile lists of up to twenty “must read” research articles for each of these areas, with short abstracts. We also provide extended lists of further published research in each of the seven areas. The purpose is to provide scholars and students reading guidelines for acquiring appropriate overviews of these sub-topic areas and an understanding of the current state of research. We also assess the recent trends and the current state of research in the sub-areas.
